If you have been poorly on holiday due to an illnesses such as food poisoning, you could make a claim to recover losses, such as medical expenses, cost of travel insurance excess, and loss of earnings.

Unfortunately, there are occasions where food provided in your all-inclusive package holiday has not been prepared adequately. Food may not be cooked to the correct temperature or the food may have been left in hot conditions, causing bacteria to build up. This can lead to food poisoning, and the symptoms are quite unpleasant and likely to ruin your holiday. Similarly, if you were provided unsafe tap water this may also cause sickness.

The ‘Package Travel Regulations’ makes the tour operator liable for any service they have sold to you, therefore it is possible to hold the tour operator accountable for negligence and claim compensation for the package holiday.
