criminal injury compensation process

  1. We will initially send you out an application form which will provide us with all the information we need to start your claim.

  2. Once we receive your application forms our criminal injury team will consider your claim ensuring we have all the required information. Your claim will then be set up and you will receive notification when your claim has been submitted.

  3. Once your claim has been submitted, certain investigations will take place, this could include:
    • Obtaining a police report
    • Obtaining a report from your GP
    • Obtaining A+E Records
    • Obtaining reports from counsellors or support workers

  4. During the course of the claim you may be asked to provide us information regarding the status of your injuries, the symptoms you are experiencing if any and what treatment you have sought. If you have any scarring or deformities as a result of the incident you will be asked to provide up-to-date photographs allowing us to assess your injuries.

  5. Once all the information has been obtained and reviewed in respect of your claim, your claim will be forwarded onto a ‘Claims assessment officer’. A Claim assessment officer reviews your claim and determines whether more information is to be obtained or not. If no further information is required then a final decision will be made in respect of your claim, whether it is successful or unsuccessful.

  6. Once we are in receipt of a formal decision, we will update you accordingly.

Dylan Nair Solicitors Ltd use specialist No Win No Fee personal injury solicitors, so if your claim is not successful you will never be asked to pay a success fee.

If you wish to apply for compensation please contact us on 01772 320177 or alternatively fill in our contact form and we will get back to you as soon as possible to discuss your claim.
